Hyderabad: Congress candidate Naveen Yadav scored a clear victory in the Jubilee Hills bypoll with a margin of 24,658 votes over BRS nominee Maganti Sunitha. The Election Commission is set to issue the formal declaration shortly, after which officials will hand him the certificate.
Naveen Yadav dominates every round in Jubilee Hills bypoll
Naveen Yadav held the lead from the first round and expanded it through every stage of counting. Sunitha did not secure the lead in any round. Congress leaders said the result boosted morale across the party and strengthened the Revanth Reddy government. The BJP finished with fewer votes than in 2023 and lost its deposit.
The victory followed a strategy driven by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He guided the candidate selection, monitored the campaign and placed Ministers in charge of each division for better coordination. He also focused on minority outreach by inducting Mohammad Azharuddin into the Cabinet days before polling.
Senior leaders and workers held ground-level meetings to energise cadres. The Chief Minister pushed government schemes into the public domain through targeted outreach. Congress leaders said these efforts shaped the final mandate.
