Hyderabad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday arrested Narsingi municipality’s town planning officer, Muni Harika, for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹10 lakh in connection with an LRS document approval.
According to ACB officials, the officer had initially demanded the bribe from a complainant in exchange for signing Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) papers. The complainant had already paid a portion of the amount earlier.
Town planning officer bribe case leads to arrest in Narsingi
Harika was apprehended at her office while accepting the remaining ₹4 lakh. ACB teams recovered the bribe amount from her possession and placed her under arrest.
She was later produced before the ACB special court and remanded to judicial custody. The agency confirmed that further investigation into the case is underway.
