Hyderabad: In the Narsingi minor gang rape case, police arrested two accused, including the main suspect, after a complaint was lodged by the victim’s family, while another juvenile remained absconding, officials said.
The incident occurred under the limits of Narsingi Police Station. According to police, a minor girl residing in the area had earlier visited Charminar, where she came into contact with a young man. They exchanged phone numbers at that time, police said.
On the 16th of this month, the girl again went to see Charminar. The youth allegedly took her to Chengicherla in the city. Police stated that she was taken to a room there, where two other boys were present.
Narsingi minor gang rape case unfolded after city trip
According to the police account, the accused allegedly made the minor consume alcohol inside the room. Subsequently, they allegedly committed gang rape on her.
On the 17th of this month, the girl’s family members approached Narsingi police and lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Inspector Harikrishna Reddy stated that the main accused and one juvenile were arrested in connection with the Narsingi minor gang rape case. Another boy was absconding, he said.
Police were continuing the investigation to trace the absconding suspect and gather further evidence in the case.
