Nandyal: In a tragic road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district, four people lost their lives and 21 others were seriously injured after a Bolero vehicle overturned near Bairluti in Atmakur mandal late on Friday night.
The victims were returning from a pilgrimage to the Srisailam Mallanna temple when the accident occurred. According to police, a total of 25 people were travelling in the vehicle, all of whom were residents of Adoni.
Upon receiving information from local residents, police rushed to the scene and launched immediate rescue efforts. The injured were initially shifted to the Atmakur government hospital for treatment. Given the severity of their injuries, seven individuals were later referred to Kurnool for advanced medical care.
The deceased have been identified as Lakshmi, Chandramma, Sashikala, and Giddayya. Police have begun investigating the cause of the accident, though further details are still awaited.
Authorities are working to determine whether overloading, mechanical failure, or driver fatigue played a role in the incident.
