Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan mourned the death of veteran actor Nana Patekar. Both leaders recalled his contribution to Indian cinema.
First, Revanth Reddy described Patekar as a leading actor, director and theatre artist. He also said the actor’s powerful performances and natural acting had left a lasting mark on Hindi and Marathi cinema.
In addition, the Telangana Chief Minister called Patekar’s death a major loss for the Indian film fraternity. He further conveyed his condolences to the actor’s family and admirers. He also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan expressed grief over the Nana Patekar death. The Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister described Patekar as an exceptional actor. In addition, he said the actor brought depth and authenticity to his characters.
In his post on X, Pawan Kalyan said, “I convey my deepest condolences on the passing of renowned actor Shri Nana Patekar Ji. I pray to the Almighty for his soul to rest in peace and convey my heartfelt sympathies to his family and loved ones.”
Thereafter, Pawan Kalyan recalled Patekar’s performance in *Krantiveer*. He also listed *Parinda*, *Khamoshi*, *Tirangaa*, *Agni Sakshi*, *Natsamrat*, *Ab Tak Chhappan* and *Apaharan* among his memorable works.
He added, “His unforgettable performance in Krantiveer remains etched in the memories of cinema lovers. Parinda, Khamoshi, Tirangaa, Agni Sakshi, Natsamrat, Ab Tak Chhappan and Apaharan are among the many memorable works in his illustrious career. Nana Patekar death prompts tributes from other leaders
Separately, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also mourned Patekar’s death. He also highlighted the actor’s contribution to Indian cinema and his versatility.
In his post on X, Jagan Mohan Reddy said, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Nana Patekar Ji. His remarkable contribution to Indian cinema and his versatile performances will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and countless admirers. May his soul rest in peace.”
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy recalled Patekar’s powerful performances, distinctive voice and contribution to Indian cinema. He further said these qualities earned the actor a special place among millions of admirers.
Beyond cinema, Kishan Reddy also referred to Patekar’s compassion and commitment to social causes. In addition, he described the actor’s death as an irreparable loss to cinema and his admirers.
Kishan Reddy said, “Beyond the screen, his compassion and commitment to social causes reflected his deep connection with society. His passing is an irreparable loss to the world of cinema and to all who admired his work. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. May his soul rest in peace.”
Likewise, Congress MP Kiran Kumar Chamala expressed grief over the actor’s death. He also recalled Patekar’s work in Hindi and Marathi cinema and his distinctive voice.
Chamala said, “His powerful performances, distinctive voice and remarkable contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema made him an unforgettable presence in Indian cinema. His legacy will continue to inspire generations. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and countless admirers. May his soul rest in peace.”
