Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said the Musi rejuvenation works would be taken up in a democratic manner, with the government seeking public opinion online and holding phased consultations before moving ahead.
Bhatti, who chaired the Musi Cabinet Sub-committee, held a detailed review meeting with officials at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat on Tuesday. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, a member of the sub-committee, also attended the meeting to review progress on the Musi rejuvenation project.
He said the government would invite public suggestions on the project from March 31 to April 15 through the email ID musirrdc@gmail.com. He added that every suggestion received online would be analysed in detail with officials. After that, sub-committee members would directly interact in phases with those who sent their views.
Bhatti said the Musi rejuvenation works would move forward after considering public input and administrative requirements. He stressed that the process would remain consultative as the government prepared for the next stages of execution.
Musi rejuvenation works roadmap prepared for two phases
Bhatti said the foundation stone for the Omkareshwara Temple works on the banks of the Musi River was laid on March 28. He then directed officials to prepare a comprehensive roadmap for all works proposed from that date under Musi Phase-1 and Phase-2.
He told officials to clearly divide responsibilities and ensure quicker coordination among departments. The review also covered issues linked to Defence lands, consultations with displaced families, finalisation of construction designs and discussions with bankers.
Moreover, he asked officials to proceed efficiently on each component of the project. He said better coordination would help avoid delays and keep implementation on track. The review focused on both administrative preparation and field-level planning.

Musi rejuvenation works backed by Cabinet support
Bhatti told officials to work with enthusiasm and keep in mind the commitment shown by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the entire Cabinet towards the project. He said the initiative would stand out as a milestone in their careers.
He also assured the officials that members of the Musi Sub-committee would remain available round the clock for any suggestions, support or requirements linked to the project. That assurance came as the government pushed for closer coordination between departments and faster decision-making.
Special Chief Secretary Ranjan, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Managing Director E.V. Narasimha Reddy, Joint Managing Director Gauthami, officials Vinay Krishna Reddy and Ashok Reddy, Collectors Harichandana, Narayana Reddy and Manu Chowdary, GHMC Commissioner Karnan and others attended the meeting.
The review underlined that the Musi rejuvenation works would proceed through phased planning, public consultation and administrative coordination. It also made clear that the government wanted the Musi rejuvenation works to advance with wider participation. In that context, the Musi rejuvenation works were positioned as a major priority for the state government.
