Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested MRO B. Nagarjuna of Talakondapally mandal in Ranga Reddy district along with an attender, Yadagiri, for allegedly accepting a ₹10,000 bribe to process a land mutation file.
Officials said Nagarjuna demanded the bribe through the attender from a complainant to register 22 guntas of agricultural land in the names of the complainant and his close relatives, shifting it from the complainant’s mother’s name.
The bribe money was recovered at the instance of the attender. Chemical tests on Nagarjuna’s hands showed positive results for bribe traces. Both officials were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The case remains under investigation.
The ACB urged citizens to report bribe demands by calling toll-free number 1064 or through WhatsApp (9440446106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), and X (@TelanganaACB), assuring confidentiality of complainants’ identities.
