Moinabad drugs case: Revanth said station bail followed rules

Hyderabad: The Moinabad drugs case drew a fresh clarification from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who denied any role of the state government. He said officials granted station bail strictly as per rules. He also confirmed that the government constituted a Special Investigation Team to probe the case.

Revanth Reddy spoke to the media during his visit to Delhi on Wednesday. He said authorities handled the Moinabad drugs case through procedure, not political influence. “In the Moinabad drugs case, station bail was granted strictly in accordance with the rules. We have no involvement whatsoever in this. We have constituted a SIT (Special Investigation Team) to investigate this matter,” he said.

The Chief Minister also addressed the election timeline in Telangana. He said the state would hold Assembly elections only in 2029. He clarified that polls would not take place in 2028. He added that early implementation of women’s reservations would help.

Moinabad drugs case remarks came during Delhi visit

Earlier, Revanth Reddy met senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi at Parliament. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud accompanied him to the meeting. During the visit, the Chief Minister introduced Vem Narender Reddy to Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi.

Vem Narender Reddy recently secured election to the Rajya Sabha. On the same day, Revanth Reddy answered questions on the Moinabad drugs case and the station bail issue. He rejected political links to the case and stressed that the SIT would examine all aspects.

The Chief Minister’s remarks outlined the government’s position clearly. He denied state involvement at the outset. He then said officials followed rules while granting bail. He also pointed to the SIT probe already underway. Meanwhile, he used the Delhi visit to meet Congress leaders and present the party’s new Rajya Sabha member.
