Hyderabad: The School Education Department released the admissions schedule for Telangana model schools for the 2026–27 academic year, covering fresh admissions and vacant seats across the State.
Director of School Education Naveen Nicholas issued the notification on Friday. The department decided to conduct an entrance examination for admissions into government-run schools under the model system. Officials said the test would cover new admissions to Class 6. It would also fill existing vacancies from Classes 7 to 10.
The department opened the online application process on January 28. Students can submit applications until February 28. Officials advised parents and candidates to follow the schedule strictly. They also asked applicants to ensure eligibility before applying.
Entrance test dates, timings and application fee details
The School Education Department allowed candidates to download hall tickets from April 9. Officials scheduled the entrance examination for April 19. For Class 6, the test will be held from 10 am to 12 noon. For Classes 7 to 10, the examination will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm.
Authorities said they would examine schools located within the respective mandals. This arrangement aims to reduce travel inconvenience for students. Officials also announced the application fee structure for admissions.
OC category students must pay an application fee of ₹200. BC, SC, ST, PWD and EWS category students need to pay ₹125. Candidates must pay the prescribed fee while submitting the online application.
Eligible students must apply only through the official website of the School Education Department. Officials advised candidates to read all instructions carefully before submission. They also asked applicants to keep a copy of the application and the fee receipt.
The department said detailed information related to admissions, examination centres and further procedures would be available on the official website. Parents and students were advised to rely only on official notifications for updates.
