HYDERABAD: MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has refuted allegations that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government allocated land for the construction of ‘My Home Vihanga’ during its tenure. She asserted that if the construction was carried out on government land, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should deploy bulldozers to the site, emphasising that Reddy would not take such action because My Home’s Rameshwar Rao is associated with the BJP. Kavitha criticised the Chief Minister for allegedly targeting the underprivileged while sparing influential individuals.
Speaking to a news agency in Hyderabad, Kavitha highlighted that the BRS government safeguarded 400 acres of Hyderabad Central University land from being transferred to private entities. She mentioned that, under KCR’s direction, legal teams effectively argued in court to protect these lands, ensuring they remained with the university.
Kavitha also accused CM Revanth Reddy of being incapable of governing effectively. She alleged that due to the Chief Minister’s actions leading to a downturn in Hyderabad’s real estate sector, the government decided to sell the 400 acres of university land. Kavitha demanded that any land taken from the university should be returned to it. She cautioned that further commercial development in the already congested Gachibowli area would exacerbate environmental pressures, urging the government to consider the ecological impact before proceeding with such plans.
