Hyderabad: Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Saturday directed civic officials to expedite the resolution of pending civic issues in bastis across the Banjara Hills division. Civic issues in these areas have been a concern for residents demanding attention. She also laid the foundation for ₹8 crore worth of CC road works during a field visit.
As part of the “Basti Baat” outreach initiative, the Mayor toured several neighborhoods including Uday Nagar, Prem Nagar, Sri Ram Nagar, and Singadikunta. Civic issues are often highlighted during such visits, prompting action from the authorities. She was accompanied by officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

During the visit, Vijayalakshmi interacted directly with residents, inspected local infrastructure, and reviewed civic conditions. She instructed officials to complete all stalled works on a war footing.
At multiple locations, she performed foundation ceremonies for cement concrete road construction projects totaling ₹8 crore. She emphasized the need to commence work without delay and ensure rapid completion.
Residents expressed appreciation for the Mayor’s direct engagement with civic issues and prompt attention to their neighborhood problems.
