Hyderabad: A man from Telangana’s Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district was killed in a late-night bike crash on Monday, with family members later alleging foul play involving his wife.
The victim, identified as Swamy, was riding pillion with his friend Veerababu when a speeding car rammed their motorcycle near Kattepally in Motakondur mandal around midnight. Swamy died on the spot. Veerababu, who was riding the bike, suffered serious injuries and was initially treated at Bhongir before being shifted to Hyderabad for further care.
Swamy, a resident of Pullur village, was working as a manager at a tractor showroom in Motkur. His wife, who also worked at the same showroom, is now under police interrogation.
Relatives have accused her of orchestrating the crash. According to Swamy’s uncle Elliah, the couple had been facing ongoing marital discord for over a year. Based on his complaint, police have registered a case and detained Swamy’s wife for questioning.
