Hyderabad: Festive celebrations turned tragic in Gopanapalli village of Warangal district’s Parvathagiri mandal on Thursday after a man died and two others sustained serious injuries in a road accident.
Nampalli Annayya and his relative Nampalli Bikshapathi were returning from funeral rites held in Sunnuru Ookal village when their motorcycle was hit head-on by another two-wheeler. The collision occurred near a poultry farm between Somaram and Choutapalli villages.

Annayya died on the spot due to the impact. Bikshapathi and two youths from Nallakunta Tanda, who were on the other bike, suffered severe injuries.
An emergency response team arrived quickly. The injured were shifted to Warangal for advanced treatment via a 108 ambulance.
Police registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.
