Hyderabad: CM Cup 2026 state-level kabaddi competitions will take place in Makthal from February 20 to 24, and officials must organise the event on a grand scale, Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari said.
The Minister reviewed arrangements through a teleconference with public representatives, the district Additional Collector and senior officials. He directed them to treat the kabaddi event under CM Cup 2026 as a prestigious programme.
Srihari asked officials and elected representatives to coordinate closely on preparations. Since players from 33 districts will participate, he said authorities must ensure seamless arrangements. Accordingly, he instructed departments to complete all logistics without delay.

The Minister said Makthal should host the competitions in a manner that sets a benchmark for other states. Therefore, he asked officials to focus on hospitality, stadium facilities and infrastructure support.
He directed authorities to provide proper accommodation and essential amenities for participants. Moreover, he instructed the Education Department to involve students from government schools and gurukuls to promote sporting spirit.
Srihari said MLCs, MLAs and MPs from the undivided Mahabubnagar district will attend as guests. Hence, he asked organisers to make appropriate arrangements for their visit.
He further directed police, sports, sanitation, municipal and electricity departments to coordinate continuously with district authorities. Public representatives must also work alongside officials to ensure the success of CM Cup 2026, he added.
District Additional Collector, senior officials, the District Sports Officer, electricity and municipal commissioners, tahsildars, MPDOs and Municipal Chairperson Vakiti Manasa Hanmanthu participated in the teleconference.
