Hyderabad: In a move aimed at strengthening security and operational readiness, Hyderabad police on Monday carried out a major reshuffle, transferring 54 police inspectors on the orders of City Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar.
The reshuffle mainly affected the Central Crime Station and the cyber crime wing. Several inspectors moved out of these units as part of the administrative exercise. Officials said the Commissioner initiated the changes to rotate officers who had served in the same sections for long periods. As part of the orders, Sajjanar directed 26 inspectors to report immediately at the City Police Commissioner’s Office.
Senior officers said the Hyderabad police reshuffle aimed to improve efficiency and strengthen field-level supervision. With cyber offences increasing, the Commissioner also sought to reinforce the cyber crime wing through fresh postings.

The Commissioner issued the transfer orders late Sunday night. He relieved 26 inspectors with immediate effect and instructed them to report to the City Police Commissioner’s Office until new postings are issued.
The reshuffle also brought changes at key police stations such as Banjara Hills, Film Nagar and Abids. The department replaced several Station House Officers as part of the exercise. At the same time, senior officers posted new inspectors to the cyber crime wing to step up action against online offences.
Police officials said the Hyderabad police reshuffle formed part of election preparedness and law-and-order planning. The scale of the changes has since triggered wide discussion within city police circles.
