Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud received a grand welcome on his arrival at Rahatnagar, his native village in Bhimgal mandal of Nizamabad district. Local residents and Congress leaders honoured him with large garlands and celebratory processions.
During his visit, the TPCC chief participated in the Bhoomi Pooja for a new Durga Devi temple being constructed at a cost of ₹50 lakh. This is under the Endowments Department. Recalling his family’s contribution to the village, he noted that his father, Bomma Gangadhar Goud, had previously built the original Durga temple.
He later joined local MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy, Corporation Chairmen Eeravathri Anil and Anvesh Reddy, Balkonda in-charge Sunil Reddy, and former DCC leaders. Together, they distributed Indira Mahila Shakti sarees as part of the Indira Mahila Shakti welfare scheme.
Mahesh Kumar Goud says Rahatnagar temple road funds sanctioned
Addressing the crowd, Goud reflected on his childhood in the village. He credited his rise in politics to the values and service of his parents. He said he never imagined he would become PCC president. Thus, he pledged lifelong dedication to Rahatnagar’s development.
He announced that over ₹380 crore had been sanctioned for the temple corridor road. It passes through the village, following discussions with the Chief Minister and concerned ministers. The new road would place Rahatnagar at the midpoint between Karimnagar and Nizamabad, he said.
Goud further advocated for an integrated school in the village to provide quality education for SC, ST, and BC students. “It is my responsibility to ensure Rahatnagar’s growth,” he added, promising continued efforts to improve infrastructure and educational access.
