Hyderabad: A lorry ran over two men near the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Adibatla on Tuesday evening, killing one and injuring the other.
The incident occurred around 4 p.m. near Narayan Girls Hostel. A Tata Ace vehicle with registration TS07-UK-5745 had pulled over to fix a tyre puncture. While the men worked beside the vehicle, a lorry (TG07-W-2866) coming from Exit 12 at Bongloor and heading towards Tukkuguda struck them from behind.
Police said the lorry driver was speeding and drove recklessly. Dileep, 28, son of Kondalu and a resident of Mulkanoor village in Andhra Pradesh, died on the spot. His co-worker, Venkat Reddy, suffered minor injuries. A team shifted him to AVS Hospital in Ragannaguda.
By evening, Dileep’s parents had not reached the police station. Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana of Adibatla will file the case once the family arrives, officials said.
