Hyderabad: A daily-wage labourer’s son from Karimnagar district who earned a seat in NIT Warangal is appealing for financial support, with his family unable to meet the ₹4.59 lakh required over four years.
Rishi, the younger son of Neerati Ashok and Lalitha from Singapur village in Huzurabad mandal, studied at a social welfare gurukula in Algunur and later at an SC welfare junior college in Gowlidoddi, where he scored 941 marks in Intermediate. He achieved the 96.98th percentile in JEE Mains and secured an All India Rank of 4,797 in JEE Advanced, leading to a seat in Electronics and Communication Engineering (VLSI) at NIT Warangal.
His elder brother, admitted to Osmania Medical College four years ago, is currently pursuing MBBS through deferred fee arrangements, with special permission from the college due to the family’s economic hardship.
NIT Warangal has stipulated a fee of ₹1.48 lakh for the first year, with ₹1.03 lakh required annually for the subsequent three years, totalling ₹4.59 lakh. The family, having exhausted all borrowing avenues, is now publicly appealing for donor assistance to ensure Rishi can join this month.
