London: Soon after landing in the UK, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao paid a personal visit to party senior and long-time NRI supporter Anil Kurmachalam, who is recovering from heart surgery.
Anil, a prominent face of the Telangana movement in the UK, was instrumental during the second phase of the statehood campaign. For close to a decade, he pushed the cause across England, organising events and building support. After hearing about his health setback, KTR decided to stop by Anil’s home in London to check on him directly.
During the visit, KTR asked about Anil’s recovery, spent time with his family, and shared a few light-hearted moments. He also acknowledged Anil’s years of service to the party and his steady backing of BRS founder K. Chandrashekar Rao.
KTR said he hoped to see Anil back on his feet soon and active in party work again. Anil, moved by the gesture, thanked him for the visit and said it had lifted his spirits.
Later in the day, KTR also met with members of the UK Telangana community. The gathering gave him a chance to engage with the diaspora, hear their concerns, and reaffirm the party’s relationship with its overseas supporters.
