Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday issued notices to Chintapandu Naveen Kumar, popularly known as Teenmaar Mallanna, in a petition filed by BRS working president and Sircilla MLA K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) seeking to quash a case registered at the Medipally police station under the Rachakonda Commissionerate limits.
The case was filed based on a complaint by Teenmaar Mallanna, alleging that KTR and Suryapet MLA Jagadish Reddy had tarnished his reputation by circulating fake videos during the MLC elections, where he was contesting as a Congress candidate. In response, KTR and Jagadish Reddy approached the High Court, requesting the dismissal of the case.
Justice Moushumi Bhattacharya heard the matter on Friday. Advocate T. V. Ramana Rao, appearing on behalf of the petitioners, argued that the case was filed out of political vendetta and was based on baseless allegations without any substantial evidence.
After hearing the arguments, the court issued notices to the Medipally police and Teenmaar Mallanna, directing them to file a counter with complete details. The next hearing has been adjourned to 13 June.
