KTR to raise Telangana scholarship dues issue in Assembly

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Thursday said his party will confront the Congress government in the Assembly over pending student scholarship dues. His response came after a Nizam College student raised the issue on social media.

The student, Suman, posted on X that she had completed her degree but was denied a transfer certificate until she cleared dues of ₹28,000 under the Reimbursement of Tuition Fee (RTF) and ₹14,000 under the Mess Tuition Fee. She said the government had not released her final-year scholarship funds and her middle-class family could not manage the financial burden.

Former Nizam College student KTR promises action on scholarship delays

KTR thanked the student for raising the issue and said he understood the struggles faced by many like her. He assured that BRS would apply pressure on the government to release funds immediately.

Recalling his own time at Nizam College, KTR said he had always supported its students and would continue to stand by them. He accused the Congress administration of failing students by delaying the scholarships and pledged to make the matter a major debate point in the upcoming Assembly session.
