Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President K. T. Rama Rao distributed Ramzan kits to poor Muslim families at a programme organised by former MLC Mohd Saleem in Somajiguda on Thursday.
Extending Ramzan greetings to the community, KTR prayed that the Almighty bless everyone and enable families to celebrate the festival with happiness.
The BRS leader recalled that during the previous government led by K. Chandrashekar Rao, Ramzan Tohfa was distributed every year to poor Muslim families across the State.
KTR criticises Congress over welfare schemes
KTR said the earlier BRS government also implemented the Shaadi Mubarak scheme. Under the programme, financial assistance of ₹1,00,116 was provided for the marriage of poor Muslim women.
However, he alleged that the Congress government discontinued several welfare schemes after coming to power. According to KTR, the party made promises before elections but stopped welfare programmes after forming the government.
The BRS leader also criticised the administration, claiming that instead of providing welfare support, the government was sending bulldozers to poor people’s homes.
Expressing confidence about the party’s future, KTR said the BRS would return to power in the State. He added that K Chandrashekar Rao would once again become Chief Minister.
Ramzan gifts would again reach poor Muslim families across Telangana once the party returns to power, he said.
MLC Dasoju Sravan and former MLC Karne Prabhakar were also present at the programme.
