Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao expressed deep sorrow over the death of Maulana Hafiz Peer Shabbir Ahmed, the president of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
In a statement issued on Sunday, KTR called the Maulana a respected Alim-e-Deen (Islamic scholar) and a selfless leader. He praised him for dedicating his life to serving the Milli (community) and the larger society.

Maulana Shabbir Ahmed, he noted, played a key role in protecting both religious and national rights. He also highlighted the cleric’s contributions to Telangana’s development, particularly through Jamiat Ulema’s work in education and social welfare.
KTR added that the Maulana’s efforts would remain etched in public memory. He offered his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and to Jamiat Ulema members. He said the BRS stands with them in this moment of grief.
