KTR condemns Kummera incident, seeks ₹1 crore compensation

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president K.T. Rama Rao condemned the KTR Kummera incident and demanded ₹1 crore compensation for the family of the murdered child in Nagarkurnool district.

KTR said the entire Telangana society had bowed its head in grief over the inhuman act. He asserted that anyone who supported the killers was equally guilty. Moreover, he said it was wrong for any elected representative, including the Chief Minister, local MLA or MP, to stand by those responsible for the child’s death.

Demanding immediate legal action, KTR insisted that police register murder charges against the eight accused in the KTR Kummera incident. He called for their swift arrest, irrespective of political affiliation. He said authorities must send them to jail without delay. If required under law, courts should consider the harshest punishment, he added, but the accused must not go free.

KTR Kummera incident: Call for strict action against eight accused

Criticising the state government, KTR alleged that it remained silent on the KTR Kummera incident. He accused the government of attempting to influence the investigation by misusing its authority over the police. He described the Chief Minister’s silence as “unforgivable” in the face of such a crime.

Earlier in the day, KTR visited Kummera village and consoled the bereaved family. He met local leaders and activists who had been protesting for justice. He expressed solidarity with the family and assured them of his party’s support.
