HYDERABAD, February 10: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly condemned the recent attack on C.S. Rangarajan, the Chief Priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple. Visiting Rangarajan’s residence, KTR, accompanied by BRS leaders, inquired about the incident and expressed solidarity with the priest’s family.
Addressing the media, KTR described the assault as “extremely heinous” and criticised the state’s law and order situation. He emphasised that insulting Rangarajan equates to insulting the deity and called for stringent punishment for those involved, regardless of their status. KTR also urged the government and police to enhance security measures at Chilkur Balaji Temple to prevent such incidents in the future. He assured that the BRS party stands firmly with Rangarajan’s family during this challenging time.
The incident, which came to light recently, involved an attack by approximately 20 individuals on Rangarajan. According to Rangarajan’s father, Soundar Rajan, the assailants demanded support for the establishment of ‘Rama Rajya.’ Upon Rangarajan’s refusal, they allegedly assaulted his son. Following a complaint lodged with the police, Veera Raghava Reddy has been identified as the main suspect, and efforts are underway to apprehend him and his associates.
