KTR leads BRS protest at Gun Park over Six Guarantees

Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR led party MLAs and MLCs in a protest at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in Gun Park, demanding statutory backing and funds for the Six Guarantees ahead of the budget session.

The legislators gathered at the memorial on Monday and paid tributes to Telangana martyrs. KTR then led the protest, where members raised slogans and displayed placards targeting the Congress government over unfulfilled promises.

Placards carried messages demanding legal backing for the Six Guarantees. Protesters raised slogans such as “Provide statutory backing to the Six Guarantees” and “We want Rythu Bandhu, not Rahul Bandhu.” They also questioned delays in pensions, Rythu Bharosa and benefits under the Mahalakshmi scheme.

KTR raises issues ahead of budget session

Addressing the media, KTR said the Congress had promised to implement the Six Guarantees within 100 days. He added that the party assured legal backing in its first Cabinet meeting, but failed to act even after more than two years.

Recalling earlier commitments, he said the assurance appeared in the Governor’s address during the first year of the government. However, the promise remained unfulfilled despite multiple Assembly sessions.

KTR pointed to delays in Rythu Bandhu payments and said the government had not enhanced social security pensions as promised. Welfare schemes announced for women, farmers, students, SCs, STs and unemployed youth, he said, remained pending.

The BRS, he added, would raise these issues during the budget session and seek clarity on allocations. He accused the government of financial mismanagement and said the party would question pending fee reimbursement dues, delays in job notifications and lack of funds for weaker sections.

Alleging fiscal mismanagement, he said the government borrowed heavily but failed to implement promises. He questioned fund utilisation and said the previous government had left a progressive State. He accused the Congress of weakening the State’s economy and failing to address public needs.
