KTR appears before SIT in phone tapping case probe

Hyderabad: The phone tapping case in Telangana gathered pace on Friday as BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team for questioning.

SIT officials served notices on KTR on Thursday, directing him to appear for the inquiry. Following the notice, he presented himself before the investigating team as scheduled.

Earlier, the SIT questioned former minister Harish Rao in the same case. With KTR’s appearance, the probe assumed added political significance.

Phone tapping case under SIT probe led by city police chief

Police registered the phone tapping case in March 2024 at Panjagutta police station. The case relates to alleged illegal surveillance during the previous regime.

A Special Investigation Team led by Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand is currently probing the matter. The SIT continues to examine the role of various individuals linked to the case.
