KPHB temple theft: ornaments worth ₹50 lakh stolen

Hyderabad: The KPHB temple theft occurred at Sri Venkateswara Swamy Devasthanam in Sardar Patel Nagar under the jurisdiction of the KPHB Police Station, where unidentified persons stole ornaments from the main idol during the night.

According to police, the burglars entered the temple around midnight and removed ornaments belonging to the presiding deity. The stolen property included 15 tolas of silver ornaments and three tolas of gold ornaments, valued at more than ₹50 lakh.

Priests discovered the theft early in the morning when they opened the temple for daily rituals. They immediately alerted the temple management, which then informed the KPHB Police Station.

KPHB temple theft case under investigation

Police rushed to the spot and examined CCTV footage installed in and around the temple premises. Officers later registered a case and began an investigation to identify the suspects and trace the stolen ornaments.

Officials said teams were analysing surveillance footage and gathering technical evidence as part of the probe. Police added that further investigation was underway.
