HYDERABAD: Former Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa has announced his resignation from the Congress party, stating that he will continue his political career as an independent. He also declared his support for Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Prasanna in the upcoming Graduate MLC elections.
Konappa had joined the Congress on March 6 last year in the presence of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. However, citing internal conflicts among Sirpur Congress leaders, he distanced himself from the party.
Clarifying his political stance, Konappa stated that he had never criticized former Chief Minister KCR or the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He also revealed that his earlier decision to leave BRS was influenced by the statements of RS Praveen Kumar.
