Hyderabad: Konda Sushmita Patel, daughter of Minister Konda Surekha, announced her political entry on Wednesday and declared that she intends to contest from the Parakala Assembly constituency in the upcoming elections.
Her statement immediately drew attention in political circles, especially in the Parakala region, where the announcement triggered fresh speculation over future electoral contests.
Sushmita Patel made the announcement while attending the Kommala Jatara in Warangal district. She said the event held deep significance for her family because the political journey of her parents had begun at the same venue.
“The political careers of my parents commenced at the Kommala Jatara. I too will begin my political journey from this very place,” she said while addressing people at the gathering.
Sushmita Patel also referred to her father’s influence in the region. She said Konda Murali continued to hold a special place in the hearts of many people.

During her interaction with the public, Sushmita Patel said she planned to actively engage with the people of Parakala and address their problems.
“I am determined to come to Parakala and alleviate your challenges. I recognise the difficulties you are facing,” she said.
She also assured that she would participate in all programmes and public events in the constituency in the coming days.
Sushmita Patel emphasised that she had decided to enter the political arena in Telangana and was ready to serve the people of the Parakala constituency.
“I am entering the political arena of Telangana. I will certainly contest in the upcoming elections,” she said.

The minister’s daughter also expressed confidence that she could secure victory from the constituency if given the opportunity to contest.
“I am confident in my capability to secure victory as an MLA from Parakala,” she stated while interacting with supporters.
However, she added that her father had advised her to remain cautious in her public statements.
“My father advised me to moderate my enthusiasm. That is why I am speaking in a measured manner. Otherwise, my delivery would have been more impassioned,” she remarked.
Her remarks have sparked political interest in the Parakala constituency, where local leaders and party cadres are closely watching developments following the announcement.
