Komatireddy hails Amrit Bharat scheme, seeks faster rail work in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday lauded the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it a significant step in modernising India’s railway infrastructure.

The Minister made his comments during the inauguration of upgraded railway stations under the scheme, which saw 103 stations revamped across 86 districts in 18 states, including Telangana. The newly modernised stations in Begumpet, Karimnagar, and Warangal were among those inaugurated.

Speaking at the Begumpet Railway Station event, Komatireddy remarked that the station’s transformation was on par with international airports. He expressed admiration for the new facilities and design improvements introduced through the scheme.

He also commended the Central Government for approving the MMTS extension connecting Ghatkesar and Yadadri, a move expected to benefit devotees travelling to the temple town. He requested Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy to expedite work on the Nalgonda railway line and ensure that the Ghatkesar-Yadadri project is completed within six months.

Komatireddy assured full support from the Telangana State Government for all ongoing and future railway projects. He also pledged to personally consult with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to secure necessary approvals to advance the initiatives.
