Komatireddy reviews Osmania Hospital works, pushes for faster execution

Hyderabad: Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is closely monitoring the construction of the new Osmania Hospital at Goshamahal. Additionally, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is also reviewing progress on priority.

Following the Minister’s instructions, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj visited the site on Monday. He conducted a joint review with officials from all departments involved in the project.

GHMC to clear 56 structures by February

GHMC officials reported that 56 identified structures within the project zone will be cleared by February-end. This ensures unhindered construction. Meanwhile, the change of land use—concerning property transferred from the Police Department to the Director of Medical Education—awaits a No Objection Certificate from the MA&UD Department.

Project consultants committed to submitting the complete schedule of drawings by January 10. They assured authorities that execution will follow approved timelines strictly.

Road and drainage works to run in parallel

The design for the adjacent nala, prepared by the I&CAD Department, was reviewed. The R&B Chief Engineer (Buildings) received instructions to begin work immediately.

Officials also directed swift design of the proposed Road Over Bridge (ROB). Furthermore, they pointed out the need to rectify a manhole causing traffic congestion near the hospital entrance. GHMC was asked to expedite development of surrounding roads. There is a clear mandate to launch pending works simultaneously to avoid project delays.
