Hyderabad: As Cyclone Montha caused heavy rainfall across Telangana, Roads and Buildings (R&B) Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy ordered officials to remain on high alert. He said all field officers must stay in their respective areas and be ready for any emergency.
Komatireddy issues strict alert to R&B officers
The minister directed officials not to take leave unless it was unavoidable. He said they should respond immediately to rainfall-related issues. Moreover, he urged them to maintain constant communication with district control rooms.
Komatireddy reminded officers to show the same preparedness displayed during the monsoon season. In addition, he asked them to install warning signboards near causeways and culverts to prevent accidents.
Departments told to work together
He instructed the R&B control centre to stay connected with all district offices. Meanwhile, he urged coordination with the police, revenue, electricity, irrigation, and panchayat raj departments. This, he said, would help manage emergencies more efficiently.
Minister urges public caution
Komatireddy appealed to citizens to remain indoors unless travel was essential. Furthermore, he requested people to follow safety guidelines issued by local officials. “Public cooperation is crucial to avoid accidents and save lives,” he said. The minister added that the government was fully prepared to handle any situation.
