Hyderabad: Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Thursday urged students of Nalgonda Medical College to serve the poor people with compassion and uphold the highest standards of medical ethics.
Addressing the annual day celebrations ‘Adwitiya–2026’ at Nalgonda Medical College, he described medicine as the noblest profession. However, he said doctors must rise above the symbolism of the white coat and focus on humane service.
“The white coat is a symbol of responsibility and trust. Doctors must ensure that the underprivileged receive quality healthcare,” he said. He also asked students to balance academic excellence with strong moral values.
Moreover, the Minister assured Nalgonda Medical College of full government support. He said officials would resolve pending issues without delay. In addition, he sanctioned two air-conditioned buses for students. He promised delivery within a month.
Research support boosts Nalgonda Medical College prospects
Referring to academic expansion, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said noted gastroenterologist Dr. Nageswar Reddy of AIG Hospitals had agreed to admit 45 postgraduate students every year for research exposure. He added that both institutions would soon sign a memorandum of understanding.
Furthermore, he highlighted efforts to strengthen education infrastructure in Nalgonda. He said government schools at Bottuguda and Prateek Government Junior College had received major funding upgrades. More institutions would be developed on par with corporate schools, he stated.
He also pointed to the ongoing ₹900-crore Outer Ring Road project in the district. The Minister reiterated his commitment to transform Nalgonda into a smart and model city.
Later, he distributed prizes to students who excelled in competitions held during the celebrations. The event concluded with cultural programmes and academic recognitions.
