Hyderabad: Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy is set to inaugurate the prestigious “Next-Gen Geophysics 2025: Unlocking Earth’s Hidden Treasures” conference in Hyderabad on June 9, underscoring India’s push to leverage advanced technologies in earth sciences.
The event will take place at the Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) in Bandlaguda-Nagole, and will begin with the inauguration of new hydrostatic rigs, marking a significant milestone for GSI’s exploration capabilities. The ceremonial lamp-lighting at the M.S. Krishnan Auditorium will be led by Reddy, with a welcome address from Dr S. Ravi, Deputy Director General and Head of Mission-V at GSITI.
Asit Saha, Director General of the Geological Survey of India, will also address the gathering, setting the stage for a high-powered conference that will bring together thought leaders and experts from across the globe. Dignitaries expected to attend include Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender, S.D. Patbhaje, Additional Director General (Southern Region), and Dr Joyesh Bagchi, Additional Director General of Policy Support and Training at GSI.
With participation from India, Australia, Canada, Russia, the USA, Poland, Malaysia, and Singapore, the conference aims to foster collaboration on the latest geophysical exploration technologies. Topics on the agenda range from cutting-edge geophysical tools to the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning in mineral exploration.
A dedicated expo pavilion will showcase state-of-the-art geophysical instruments and AI-driven exploration models, offering attendees a hands-on look at frontier technologies transforming the industry.
