Hyderabad: Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy issued a Kishan Reddy letter to voters in Kerala, urging them to support the BJP-led NDA in the upcoming Assembly elections while criticising the Congress government in Telangana.
In the open communication, he accused Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy of making misleading claims during his recent visit to Kerala. He said the statements did not reflect the ground realities in Telangana. Moreover, the Kishan Reddy letter alleged that the Congress government had failed to deliver on key promises made to voters.
Reddy said the Congress came to power on the basis of “six guarantees” and “420 promises” aimed at women, youth and underprivileged sections. However, he stated that many of these commitments remained unfulfilled. According to the Kishan Reddy letter, these included financial assistance to farmers, loan waivers and minimum support price increases.
He also cited the proposed Rs 2,500 monthly assistance under the Mahalaxmi scheme as pending. In addition, he pointed to the promise of two lakh jobs and a job calendar, which he said had not materialised. Pension hikes and unemployment allowances were also listed among unfulfilled assurances in the Kishan Reddy letter.
Kishan Reddy letter cites governance and debt concerns
Reddy alleged that the state’s financial position had worsened under the current administration. He claimed rising debt levels had placed pressure on governance. Therefore, he described Telangana’s situation as a cautionary example for voters in Kerala.
He argued that voters should evaluate governance records before making electoral decisions. In the Kishan Reddy letter, he maintained that the Congress had not met expectations in Telangana despite its electoral promises.
Appealing directly to the electorate, he said the NDA offered a more reliable alternative. He stated that leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ensured development and stable governance. As a result, he urged Kerala voters to support the alliance in the upcoming polls.
Reddy’s remarks formed part of a broader political outreach ahead of elections. Through the Kishan Reddy letter, he sought to contrast governance models and influence voter opinion beyond Telangana.
