Hyderabad: A Kia car went up in flames near the busy Sheelanagar signal on the Vizag highway, but a timely response from the driver helped avert a tragedy. A father and his young daughter, who were travelling in the vehicle, managed to escape without injuries after noticing smoke rising from the bonnet.
The incident occurred at a traffic signal point, which fortunately gave the driver just enough time to pull over and exit the vehicle with his daughter before the fire intensified.
Eyewitnesses said the car began emitting smoke suddenly while waiting at the signal. Within moments, flames engulfed the engine area. Passersby rushed to alert the fire department, and emergency services arrived promptly to douse the blaze.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but officials suspect a technical malfunction. No casualties were reported, and the swift response of the father is being credited for preventing a potential disaster.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and urged vehicle owners to regularly service their cars to avoid such mishaps.
