Hyderabad: AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday unveiled a nine-foot bronze statue of former Chief Minister Konijeti Rosaiah at Lakdikapul in Hyderabad to mark the late Congress veteran’s birth anniversary.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers D Sridhar Babu and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and Rosaiah’s family were present at the ceremony.
The statue, weighing 450 kilograms, has been installed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation near the Lakdikapul metro station. Party leaders said the junction was chosen for its visibility and public reach.
Revanth Reddy described Rosaiah as a leader with a spotless public record, recalling his record-setting 16 budget presentations during his time as finance minister in undivided Andhra Pradesh.
Congress leaders highlighted Rosaiah’s reputation for clean politics and sound administration, crediting him with maintaining fiscal stability in turbulent periods.
The event formed part of the Congress’s efforts to honour senior leaders who shaped the region’s political and developmental path.
