Khammam road expansion gets Rs 594 crore for five key routes

Hyderabad: Khammam road expansion received a major push after the state government sanctioned Rs 594 crore for widening five key routes under GO MS No.15 dated March 16, 2026.

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka played a key role in securing the funds. The project aimed to upgrade major district roads into four-lane corridors to improve connectivity.

The Khammam road expansion focused on linking rural areas with urban centres. It also aimed to ease transportation of agricultural produce and reduce travel time. As a result, the project was expected to benefit Khammam, Wyra, and Madhira constituencies.

The government approved the works under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). Officials said the initiative would also support local economic activity and reduce transport costs for farmers and traders.
