KCR pays tribute on Jyothirao Phule birth anniversary

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president K Chandrashekhar Rao paid tributes to Jyothirao Phule on his birth anniversary. On the Jyothirao Phule birth anniversary, he said the reformer’s ideas still guide social and economic policy.

Rao described Phule as a visionary who fought caste, class and gender inequality. He also said Phule advanced women’s empowerment by educating his wife Savitribai Phule. Moreover, he noted that Phule promoted women’s education despite strong resistance.

Rao said his government followed Phule’s ideals through welfare programmes. In particular, irrigation projects expanded farm output. He added that free power supply supported farmers. Further, he cited schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bima.

He said schemes for traditional occupations improved rural livelihoods. For instance, he cited sheep distribution and fisheries development. He also mentioned support for weavers under Nethanna ku Cheyutha. As a result, these efforts strengthened Dalit and Bahujan communities. They also helped revive the rural economy.

Rao said Aasara pensions supported vulnerable groups. Meanwhile, BC Bandhu improved income levels among backward classes. He added that the government set up residential schools for BC students. In turn, these institutions ensured access to quality education.

He said the government allocated land and funds in Hyderabad for Atmagourava Bhavanalu. These buildings, he added, would support BC associations and future generations.

Finally, Rao urged the State government to continue these measures. He said such efforts uphold Phule’s ideals and support backward communities.
