Hyderabad: BRS chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Monday expressed deep shock over the sudden death of Telangana anthem lyricist Andeshree, calling it an irreparable loss to the state. He said Andeshree’s songs and writings had played a decisive role in the cultural movement that strengthened the Telangana statehood struggle.
Furthermore, KCR said Andeshree’s composition “Jaya Jaya He Telangana” would continue to echo for as long as the world exists. Recalling his association with the late poet during the movement, he said the loss had left a void in Telangana’s cultural identity. He prayed for peace to Andeshree’s soul and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
KTR and Harish Rao express grief over Andeshree’s death
Meanwhile, former minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao (KTR) also expressed grief over Andeshree’s sudden demise. In a post on X, KTR wrote, “The sudden death of renowned poet, lyricist and writer Dr Andeshree deeply shocked me. His songs that inspired the Telangana movement will forever stay in people’s hearts.” He added that the loss marked a dark day for Telangana’s literary and cultural community.
Likewise, former minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao conveyed his condolences in a message on X. He said, “The untimely demise of noted poet and writer Andeshree is deeply saddening. My heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers. I pray for his soul to rest in peace.”
Later, officials confirmed that Andeshree, aged 64, had collapsed at his residence on Monday morning. His family immediately took him to Gandhi Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Consequently, the news of his death plunged Telangana’s literary circles and his admirers across the state into mourning.
