KCR, Harish Rao challenge Kaleshwaram report in High Court

Hyderabad: BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and former Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Tuesday moved the Telangana High Court against the findings of the Kaleshwaram Commission report. Both leaders alleged that the report was factually inaccurate and politically motivated.

KCR said the inquiry was driven by the ruling Congress government’s agenda and lacked objectivity. Harish Rao filed a separate petition seeking an immediate stay on the report’s implementation. Both leaders described the probe as biased and lacking in credibility.

Their legal challenge comes days after the state cabinet approved the report prepared by retired Justice P.C. Ghosh. The commission was tasked with reviewing decisions and execution related to the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme.

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy defended the report, stating that it was the outcome of a detailed investigation. He said the government would soon present it in the Assembly and hear inputs from all political parties during the discussion.
