Kadiyam Srihari questions KCR family assets

Hyderabad: Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari on Thursday questioned the KCR family assets and sought complete public disclosure of properties held by the former chief minister’s family.

Addressing the media, Srihari alleged that leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi viewed political power as a family entitlement. He took exception to references describing former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao as the “father of Telangana” and said such assertions required examination.

Questioning that characterisation, Srihari sought clarity on the specific contributions that justified the title. He further alleged that the family accumulated substantial wealth during the party’s ten-year tenure in office. Referring to asset growth, he questioned the extent of KCR family assets in 2014 and compared them with present holdings.

Calling for transparency, the MLA urged authorities to place full asset details before the public. He further alleged that several members of the family faced allegations in various matters, though he did not specify individual cases.

The MLA rejected suggestions that legal action against family members would amount to an insult to Telangana. According to him, action under law concerned individuals and should not be equated with disrespect to the State.

He criticised what he described as repeated reliance on Telangana sentiment in political campaigns. Voters, he said, had rejected the party in successive elections, yet its leadership had not altered its approach.

Continued electoral defeats, he argued, reflected public dissatisfaction. His comments added to the ongoing political exchanges surrounding KCR family assets in the State.
