Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi chief and former MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha targeted the Congress government over the paper leak at Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University, calling it a clear failure of governance.
The controversy followed disciplinary action by the university. Authorities suspended four staff members linked to the paper leak. At the same time, they cancelled the admissions of 35 third-year BSc (Agriculture) in-service candidates and sent them back to the agriculture department.
Reacting on social media platform X, Kavitha said the Congress government had turned into a “leakage government”. Earlier, she noted, recruitment processes had faced irregularities. Now, she said, the agriculture university paper leak exposed deeper problems.
Paper leak sparks sharp political criticism
According to Kavitha, the paper leak showed the government’s inability to safeguard academic standards. Therefore, she criticised the education department for weak supervision.
Notably, the department functions under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. In this context, she said such incidents were shameful and directly affected students’ futures.
Additionally, Kavitha alleged that the Chief Minister focused more on selling university lands. Instead, she said, the government should address students’ concerns and restore confidence in the education system.
Hence, she demanded immediate corrective steps. Otherwise, she said, the government should hand over the education portfolio to another minister.
Meanwhile, Kavitha’s post gained traction on social media. As a result, it triggered fresh debate in political circles across Telangana.
