Kavitha gets strong backing from unions, student bodies for new Telangana-focused party

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha on Tuesday called for united action to build a “social Telangana.” She said the state needs a strong political party that safeguards Telangana’s identity and self-respect.

Her remarks came during a massive show of support at the Telangana Jagruthi office in Banjara Hills. Representatives from a wide range of social groups, trade unions, employee federations, caste-based associations, and student unions from various universities met her and extended their full support.

Unions, JACs, student bodies pledge support for Kavitha’s leadership

Leaders from Singareni workers’ unions, HMS, BC associations, student bodies, and former Telangana Joint Action Committees (JACs) of both phases of the movement declared that it is time to rally behind a leadership that genuinely represents Telangana’s cause. Many participants emphasized that a new party under Kavitha’s leadership would ensure inclusive benefits for all communities.

The office premises were packed with supporters chanting “Jai Kavitha Akka.” Jagruthi cadres and well-wishers poured in from across districts. Representatives of political JACs, regional movement committees, caste-based organizations, and auto unions were also present.

Kavitha welcomed all attendees and thanked them for their trust. She assured that her political journey will remain committed to democratic principles and aligned with the aspirations of Telangana’s people.

A party rooted in Telangana’s identity and people’s movements

Participants said a new political formation under Kavitha’s leadership would serve the interests of marginalized and neglected communities. They asserted full faith in her leadership and pledged to walk alongside her in this new phase of political struggle.

Kavitha expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response. She said the trust placed in her by supporters from remote regions gives her renewed strength. “This movement belongs to all sections of society, and it will move forward with everyone’s support,” she said.
