Hyderabad: Five people, including three women and a child, lost their lives in a devastating road accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Kadapa district on Friday.
The incident occurred at a sharp bend near Guvvalacheruvu ghat in CK Dinne mandal, where a lorry collided head-on with a car. All five occupants of the car died on the spot due to the impact.
Police said the victims were travelling from Rayachoti to Kadapa when the collision occurred. Preliminary reports suggest the lorry veered onto the car’s path while navigating the narrow ghat section.
Local authorities responded quickly after getting reports of the crash. The victims’ bodies were recovered and taken to a nearby government hospital for autopsies.
An official case has been filed, and investigators are now working to figure out what caused the accident and if negligence played a role.
