Indira Gandhi Jayanti event held in Achampet with TPCC chief paying tributes

Hyderabad: The Indira Gandhi Jayanti event was held in Achampet on Wednesday, where TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud paid floral tributes to the late former Prime Minister. He offered respects at the Indira Gandhi statue along with local MLA Dr Vamsi Krishna during his return journey from Srisailam. Congress leaders said the programme honoured the late leader’s legacy and her contributions to the nation.

Mahesh Kumar Goud reached Achampet as the chief guest for the Jayanti programme. Supporters and local leaders welcomed him at the event, which the party organised at the constituency headquarters. They said the gathering aimed to remind the younger generation of Indira Gandhi’s role in shaping India’s political history.

Several leaders joined the programme. Library chairman Rajender, municipal chairman Garlapati Srinivasulu, and market committee chairperson Rajitha Mallesh were present. Former MPP Ramanatham, Uma Maheshwara Temple chairman Biram Madhav Reddy, Youth Congress leaders Kund Mallikarjun, Anil, and Kashanna Yadav also attended the ceremony.

Participants spoke about Indira Gandhi’s leadership and her influence on national development. They said her decisions during critical phases left a lasting impact on the country. Moreover, they praised her commitment to social welfare and national integration.

The leaders concluded the event by recalling her values and urging party workers to follow her principles. They also pledged to strengthen the Congress presence in Nagar Kurnool district.
