Hyderabad: An Indigo flight heading to Hyderabad from Bengaluru was forced to make an emergency landing at Gannavaram airport on Tuesday night after pilots detected a technical issue shortly after take-off.
The aircraft, with nearly 200 passengers on board, had just left Bengaluru when the crew reported adverse conditions. Acting on emergency protocol, the pilots diverted the flight and sought clearance to land at Gannavaram in Andhra Pradesh.
The aircraft landed safely without further incident. Airport officials said the pilots alerted the Gannavaram control tower in time, allowing ground staff to prepare for the unscheduled landing.
Passengers were unharmed. Airline engineers began inspecting the aircraft after it was brought to a halt.
This incident adds to a series of recent technical alerts reported on Indian carriers in the past few weeks.
