Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department has forecast continued rainfall across Telangana over the next three days, warning of intense showers accompanied by strong winds and thunder in several districts.
On Wednesday, light to heavy rain was reported in Hyderabad, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Medak, and Kamareddy districts.
For Thursday, the forecast indicates light to moderate rain across the state. On Friday, rainfall is expected in Adilabad, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Khammam, Ranga Reddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, and Medak districts.
On Saturday, rain is also likely in Nalgonda, Suryapet, Jangaon, Siddipet, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri in addition to the above districts.
In view of these conditions, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for many districts.
In the last 24 hours, several areas recorded moderate to heavy rain. Khammam district saw 8.6 cm at Paloncha and 7.6 cm at Burgampadu. In Mahabubabad district, Garla recorded 8.5 cm while Bayyaram logged 6.4 cm.
Authorities advised residents, especially those in low-lying areas, to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
