Hyderabad: Authorities launched an official probe into illegal ventures in Narayankhed following complaints from victims alleging land fraud and encroachments.
Several affected buyers approached the District Collector, claiming developers cheated them by selling disputed and duplicate plots. Subsequently, revenue officials began inspections across mandals in the constituency and initiated preliminary action.
Over the past four years, employees from IITs, NITs, software firms and other sectors purchased plots in the region for retirement and investment. However, many later discovered that their registered lands were either located elsewhere or had already been sold to others.
In several cases, developers allegedly showed roadside plots during negotiations but executed registrations for different parcels. As a result, buyers who invested lifetime savings now face uncertainty.
Illegal ventures expose duplicate sales and encroachments
Complainants alleged that some promoters created forged documents and resold identical plots to multiple buyers. Moreover, when questioned, they reportedly intimidated original purchasers.
In Nagalgidda mandal’s Morgi village outskirts, a 40-acre venture named Harithavanam came up along the Bidar road. Since the layout lacked access from the R&B road, miscreants allegedly encroached upon two acres belonging to Dalit landowners to create an approach road.
Revenue officials conducted a survey and confirmed that the disputed land belongs to Dalits. Nevertheless, the affected families stated that they have not received compensation.
Victims further alleged that several illegal ventures operated without mandatory government approvals. In Sirgapur mandal’s Gaudugam and Abbend village outskirts, promoters reportedly formed layouts without permissions. Although panchayat officials issued notices in some cases, promoters allegedly refused to accept them.
Revenue and panchayat authorities have now sought police protection to remove illegal ventures. Officials stated that they would complete the investigation and initiate action against those responsible for fraud and encroachments.
